Marion Smith Designs & Petaloo Blog Hop-Day 3!!

Wooozers!!! What a great blog hop it has been already!!!
Here is a peak at what Day 2 was like wow!
Check them out here,
&

Today is Day 3 on the Blog Hop and I am featured on the Marion Smith Designs Blog!!!
The Altered Wedding Cake...
Created with Garment District Paper Collection & Junque & Gems by Marion Smith Designs, complementing Petaloo Botanica Floral Collections.
This wedding cake screams Spring to me and is so delish good enough to eat!!!
I started with a 3 tier paper mache' boxes, painted them with gesso...
Picked out my favorite papers by Marion distressed the edges...for a shabby chic feel
I brushed on gesso over the distressed edges...adds softness!
Adhered the papers to the boxes.
Glued the boxes together to make the tier cake.
I fussy cut out the roses and images out of the papers.
I adhere them first and then started to tuck the beautiful flowers in to get a
beautiful cascade flow over the boxes.
Then came the fun park tucking in Marion's Junque & Gems through out
the wedding cake....I just love how this little metal butterfly is
nestled on top!!!
I had some already die cut pieces sitting on my table
I snipped them apart and tucked in here and there...
also gave a softness to the cake.

I am so addicted to these amazing Botanica flowers I want them in
every color....so soft and work so well with Marion's papers.
Thanks for stopping by today.

I just love the touches of glitter on the flowers!!

Tutorial:
Distressing the edges of the dress form paper....
1. damp with water
you can use a brush, spray bottle, or dab it on.
2. rub and roll back the paper from chipboard
3. keep wetting and rolling back the paper
until you get the look and depth you want.
I am so thankful for getting to create with Marion's products
and Petaloo flowers, they all work so well together.
